OH GOD PEOPLE, STOP AND LISTEN TO YOURSELVES! "I don't like any 60's music" "Kiss, man!" GOOD GOD first, Kiss is not a 60's band second, 60s music may not be the most satisfying to listen to sometimes(no superheavy guitars, no yelling, no swearing), but a lot of psychilelic music is the most interresting (rock) ever created. Only bands such as Tool (and the Mars Volta i guess) nowadays are as experimental and interresting. Linkin Park? screw off. Good Charlotte? uh huh.... Best 60s bands THE BEATLES like them or not they will stand as the most influential (pop/rock) band of all time. ever. without them, we might not have Tool Nirvana and, ahem, Linkin Park JIMI HENDRIX the best guitarist ever. his wicked epic voodoo chile is fantastic, and All Along the Watchtower should be your favorite non-90's song. ROLLING STONES too much bluesy stuff for my taste, not enough strait-up rock, but that didn't really exist until Zep put out Zeppelin I. THE DOORS The End and LA Woman should rival all along the watchtower on your 60's list JEFFERSON AIRLPLANE they make the list based on the strength of White Rabbit alone. One of the greatest psychidelic songs of all time LED ZEPPELIN sure, maybe they're a 70s band, but their first (and best) album was recorded in '69. This gives them enough clout to break in the top 7 60s bands THE VELVET UNDERGROUND velvet underground & nico is a great album.... like pink floyd, their influence is greater than their music (in my opinion). velvet underground influenced everyone from Tool to the Strokes. Yes, the 60s were the second greatest decade for rock ever (after the 90s...), but undoubtedly the most important. The least important? yep, the 80s. Thank god for Sonic Youth, U2 and Metallica. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Oh My god, I Agree and you forgot a lot of other good ones... PINK FLOYD THE FOUNDATIONS...Way to many to think of Long Live Rock n Roll
