Pink - Try This v I'm Not Dead Yet

It constantly amazes me when critics write reviews. They wax on about how an album changed the world, where it stands in an artist's development, the message behind the songs and on they go. What has all this to do with whether an album is any good or not? Usually nothing. They must get a warm fuzzy feeling writing an elaborate review, but then again peeing your pants does the same thing...for about a minute. Pink's "Try This" is a way better album than "I'm Not Dead Yet". The melodies are much better and more diverse (whoops, there I go being profound). There are some good songs on "INDY", but there is a similar sound to much of it. At the end of the day, songs are mainly about melody and whether they sound good. I don't give a rat's a... whether they have made a social commentary or sent a political message to the president. An artist could be writing a song about their pet rock for all I care. If it has a strong melody and makes me feel good, what else do you need? I like Pink and "INDY" is not a bad album. It's just that "Try This" is brilliant and a classic in my view.
