sad??? sure staind, evanescence, linkin park might have some sad stuff, but you can do better than that. lemme see, where to start---check out remember august, taking back sunday, dashboard confessional, saves the day, sigur ros, sunny day real estate, yellowcard, red house painters, portishead, the get up kids, appendix out, kenna, embodyment, buckethead, and my 2 personal favorites: kind of like spitting and pedro the lion (the best in my opinion). they have plenty of "suicide and love" for ya, specially the last 2. if you're looking for poppier stuff, try cold, sarah mclachlan, collective soul, goo goo dolls, third eye blind's older stuff, dido, smashing pumpkins, coldplay, ben folds, ben folds five, blink 182, silverchair, cousin kevin, bush, and of course, radiohead. of course there are a ton of others, and not all of the songs by all of these artists are sad, but that should get ya started. you can also check out:

Sad lyrics hmm....some of The Smiths lyrics are quite depressing you'll have to have a browse to see if there is anything you like....Not sure if you've heard of Clearlake - they are my housemate's cousins band - one song inparticular "Its all to much" and then there is of course Gary Jules - Mad World. See what takes your fancy..hope this helps.
