The Front man of the Movement “LUKAS SCHERFIG” is going solo!
Finally it's here! The debut album of Lukas Scherfig entitled "Soul Vacation".
After the split with The Movement last summer Lukas has
been working hard to write material for this album.
Playing a few shows and feeling the freedom and excitement of starting
a new area as a solo artist, has brought whole new sides
of Mr. Scherfig into this album.
SOUL VACATION is the title song. It explains pretty good,
where Lukas is now and the reason of this album.
It has a great traditional rock sound with piano and sharp electric guitar.
You can hear soft ballads, like WAS IT LOVE? and
WILL YOU LOVE ME WHEN IT RAINS?
Songs that reminds you of Dylan in the late 70-ties.
SUMMER HAS LEFT TOO SOON is a sad and basic acoustic sounding song,
written after the sudden death of Lukas's father.
SPEND MY DAYS is a classic power-pop song, the lyrics are straight forward
and you can really hear the big influence that Paul Weller has been on Lukas.
"Spend my days on shopping spend my life on nothing!"
BROKEN HEARTS is an up-tempo love song with a groovy piano
and lots of violins in the chorus, it's cream but still dirty.
THE LOVING is a critical song about Denmark as it is now. "The bourgeois and
the nationalists has taking such a hard grip on our country that humanity
and social thinking counts for nothing anymore." Says Lukas.
It's the "wall of sound" on the album.
I WON'T BE CRYING and YOUR LOVE IS MAKING ME STRONGER are the
soul stompers together with I WILL GIVE MY HEART TO YOU.
These songs brings you back to The Supremes and Martha Reeves,
then back again to Amy Winehouse.
You realize how universal and timeless soul music is.
I WILL GIVE MY HEART TO YOU has a special romantic European feeling
that makes you wanna fall in love in front of the Eiffel tower.
YOUR HEALING has a monotone walk feeling
with a catchy melodic guitar riff on top.
