The Death of Rock Can't Post

I'm a junior at Libertyville High School, and about two weeks ago our school newspaper released an article in its centerfold which was titled "The Death Of Rock". This article was written by one of my friends whom I consider to be a person who tries to find depth in obscurity, and who submerges himself in an ocean of esoteric musical interests in a vain attempt to authenticate his status as an authority. I believe many people who considered themselves "true music fans"
are guilty of this very same social fallacy.

The article itself was bland. A tried and untrue sentiment thrown out by thousands of classic rock enthusiasts. But before I forward my own opinion on this topic, I would like to hear the opinions of other music fans in order to avoid alienating anyone from this discussion.

Is rock truly dead?
