I hate the Ipod

My first Ipod: I rolled over in my sleep and pushed it into a glass of water. My 2nd Ipod (nano): I was in D.C. visiting a friend and going through the turnstile at the subway. I was wearing my ipod on my hip, and had the earbuds looped up under my coat and in my ears. The turnstile caught the tiny 1 inch of exposed headphone cord and yanked the Ipod off my hip and onto the ground where it shattered into thousands of pieces. I know I should blame myself for repeated stupidity – but honestly they need to make these things more durable… Anyway, now I’m looking into an integrated headphone/MP3 player (I always like to make my purchases based on lessons I’ve learned… if they’d made a waterproof nano my last one would have been). I tried out my friends’ set (http://www.hearotto.com/Products_OT3.aspx ) by a company named Otto and was pretty impressed, the sound quality is definitely better than anything Apple headphones can produce, plus the company prides themselves on creating durable products. Thought I’d pass this along for any other electronically-accident-prone people, I’ll also let you know what I think when I get my pair.
