Okay metallica is an overly influential band and if it wasnt for metallica there would be no megadeth and Hey Dave Mustaine Was the first Lead guitarist They Had!!.... But if they had an y extreme talent that warranted them to be the biggest band in the world i would bow down ... but they dont!!!!! OMG U DONT LIKE METALLICA???????

metallica is so generic and its the biggest way to drag sombie Newbie Sheep that only follow commercial Desires in to the metal genre and that sucks theyre is nothing worse than some TOOL that would were a Iron Maiden shirt and not have a F***** Clue about the band or its music!!!!

Megadeth are better than Metallica but Metallica's shit from the 80's was still awsome. I loved it in those days how straight after as solo they would have some fucking awsome riff.

Metallica are a derivative metal band that lsot the final vestige of cool they had wsith Lars's barracking of Napster. The leaked demo is dissapointing to say the least.

Every song ever recorded carries their distinctive sound which is easily recognizable (yes...even covers like Green Hell) and most rock/metal bands either try to emulate them or admit to being influenced by them...so I guess that earns them the right to be placed in a league of their own.

And no I don't think they've reached their limits, that would be indicative via a decline in the quality of their lyrics and music, however that has not been the case. As long as James and Lars are still around they'll always be pumping out killer tracks with awesome lyrics.

I think someones forgetting that even though i partly agree with the whole 'bands wouldn't be here today without metallica' milarke but dont forget that one major part in metallica was the almighty Mustaine.......out of his whole discography...possibly only one major flop in album charts....unlike metallica....well, thats left to be desired....! they lost they're spark a long time ago....!!
