I beg to differ. Check out the definition of "Power Pop" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Power_pop

Last time I checked Green Day sounded nothing like "Stacy's Mom" by Fountains of Wayne. Now check this out. http://www.urbandictionary.com/...e.php?term=Green+Day I see nothing about powerpop here.

Regardless Green Day doesn't care what you think they are or me for that matter. They do on the other hand care wow about nothing! That makes them punk.

Green Day are closer to being in the punk genre than Good Charlotte will ever be. Green Day used to be good, back in the day. Their music has gone downhill since then, resulting in bad songs such as 'American Idiot'. Yes, some of their songs on the 'American Idiot' album do have good lyrics, but that's all Green Day have going for them these days.

So michel jackson is punk?
And they are ALL over MTV.

Punk rock is played on out-of-tune guitars, and is hard and fast. It is not organized. It is not syncronized. Green Day is mainstream pop-rock

Green day is practicly the opposite of punk. Mike Dirnt even said in an interview that Green Day wasn't punk
