Yes, there is a load of crap on the radio (and especially MTV or Much music in Canada), but just because a band is indie, or underground, does not get rid of their crappyness. Nirvana was just as good (better) when famous. Tool is one of the bnest bands of all time: not underground. Ditto: Led Zep, Radiohead, QotSA, etc. Billy Talen blows, Mars Volta are overrated and many other indie bands are indie for a reason: no one wants to sign them cause they can't create interesting music. Simple. Actually, props to mars volta for not following anyones' preconceived ideas of what music should or should not be. Not my cup of tea, but they get my props. Next time i think they should focus more on their music and less on trying to be "different." That said, they are still 100x better musicians than I will ever be, so ill shut up now.
